Reference Material Supermicro X9/X10/X11 Fan Speed Control
May 30, 2016 · Reference material regarding fan speed control on SuperMicro X9/X10/X11 motherboards. This has been pieced together over some time and I finally got that "aha!" moment yesterday where it all came together. A bit of testing confirmed that this is effectively correct (even if SM might disagree on some fine details).

Jan 1, 2025 · Here’s the situation: I purchased several Supermicro H11DSi servers with 7k62 processors. Initially, the original version of IPMI couldn’t successfully mount system images via SMB. After upgrading the IPMI firmware on one server to the latest version 01.52.21, I was able to mount and install the system successfully.

Oct 10, 2019 · From the Supermicro IPMI interface, I could see this fan sometimes go to 0 RPM resulting in the triggered alert and the fans to run briefly at max speeds before reverting back to low speeds. The standard speed setup with the 0 low threshold results in a quiet workstation and is fine for now, but I would like more control over the raw speeds.

Jan 23, 2016 · The Supermicro page for that board does not even list a driver. btw, Windows does not need a third party RAID driver for Intel onboard SATA RAID. It should be able to see the RAID drive(s) natively.

May 13, 2015 · Im logged into the SuperMicro box over IPMI. I have set the BIOS to boot from Dual mode instead of UEFI only and put the USB drive at the top, but, depending on settings, I either get it still booting to the Windows Server OS, or just going to a black screen and sitting there indefinitely.
