As we conclude the Second Regular Session of the Nineteenth Congress, the Senate takes immense pride in presenting to the Filipino people our comprehensive Performance Report, which reflects the tireless efforts, achievements, and commitment of our legislative body.

The Philippines tops the 2024 World Risk Index, making it one of the most climate-vulnerable countries. Climate change already costs the economy 1.2%–4.6% of GDP each year (World Bank, 2022), and the toll is expected to rise further.

History of the Senate - Senate of the Philippines

The Senate shall be composed of twenty-four Senators who shall be elected at large by the qualified voters of the Philippines, as may be provided by law. It is worthy to note that the composition of the Senate is smaller in number as compared to the House of Representatives.

Legislative Bill Drafting Service renders assistance to the members of the Senate in the drafting of bills and resolutions. It provides technical assistance to any Senate permanent committee in the preparation of proposed amendments, substitute or consolidated bills.

The Office of the Senate Secretary assists the Senate President in extending adequate and timely legislative and administrative support to the offices of Senators. It exercises supervision and control over all the offices, service units, officers and employees of the Senate Secretariat.
