Jan 28, 2023 · Both Colgate and Hamilton are pretty remote, with just a few restaurants/shops to walk to (a pretty far walk in Hamilton case, but there is a shuttle). Beautiful campuses and area for both. Colgate is larger, more pre-professional, more sporty and has more school spirit, but is cliquey and social life options limited for those not in Greek life.

The Robert Ho Science center is newest, most beautiful, and most well-equipped building on campus. Colgate sciences are tough, but if you are decently good at them, a GPA above a 3.0 is attainable.

Colgate’s buildings are more physically contiguous, with many of them being literally connected by underground tunnels. The buildings sit on a hill and there are many lovely vistas at the periphery that give the campus a spacious feel.

For many students, it provides a college experience that is "traditional " - Greek life, tailgating, etc. It is more remote, and as is the case at all somewhat isolated schools, kids work hard at keeping their campus lively, so if you don’t like their way of doing that ...
