Released in April 1995, the Holden VS Series I (VS.I) Commodore was available as a large sedan or wagon. Manufactured in Elizabeth, South Australia, the VS Commodore was powered by 3.8-litre V6 and 5.0-litre V8 petrol engines.

The only considerable difference between the "Holden Commodore" and "Holden Berlina" is the luxury level, and in the case of the examples illustrated, body style; the Commodore pictured is a station wagon, the Berlina a sedan. However, both body variants are available on either model.

The Holden Commodore is a series of automobiles that were sold by former Australian manufacturer Holden from 1978 to 2020. They were manufactured from 1978 to 2017 in Australia and from 1979 to 1990 in New Zealand, with production of the locally manufactured versions in Australia ending on 20 October 2017. [2]

May 15, 2018 · The visually similar VS of 1995 saw Holden concentrate on engine upgrades for the final model of the second-generation Commodore. The V6 was given a thorough re-engineering and rebranded Ecotec, receiving a new block, heads, manifolds, sump and a sequential EFI system freeing up an extra 17kW, with six per cent greater efficiency.
