Gov. Braun approved the execution of Benjamin Ritchie, who killed a Beech Grove police officer in 2000, after the Indiana Parole Board rejected his clemency plea.

Barring intervention from federal or U.S. Supreme Court judges, the convicted murderer will be executed next week.
