Indian police have arrested an American Youtuber tried to establish contact with the tribe on North Sentinel island, known for attacking intruders.

A 24-year-old American man went to a far-flung island in hopes of filming an encounter with the Sentinelese, the Indian authorities said. It is illegal to make contact with the tribe.

Mykhailo Viktorovych Polyakov, a 24-year old from North Goldwater, Arizona, was arrested after allegedly sneaking onto North Sentinel Island and attempting to make contact with the tribe. Polyakov reportedly spent about five minutes on the island, recording a video and taking some sand before leaving a coconut and a Diet Coke as a peace offering.
