Storm Éowyn was "probably the strongest storm" to hit the UK in at least 10 years, the Met Office has said, with wind gusts in excess of 100mph (160km/h).

Rail services and flights have been axed, with rare red weather warnings issued for Scotland and Northern Ireland. MORE weather warnings have been issued for Dorset in the wake of Storm Eowyn. Winds of between 50 and 60mph could hit the county on Sunday, the Met Office has warned. A yellow warning will be in place from 8am on Sunday,
