Secretary of state announced Friday that the U.S. will abandon its role as peace mediator in Ukraine within days if a short-term agreement is not reached.

U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio said Friday that the Russian invasion of Ukraine is "not our war" and that if it's not possible to end the war within days "we're done."

The president’s patience will likely run out, Rubio said, signaling an ultimatum to the two parties given that a deal still seems out of reach.
