For striking workers, this means unpaid days on the picket line. For stores, it means fewer working employees to stock shelves and help customers, and for those customers, it means making a choice about where they shop.

On Thursday, workers at 77 King Soopers stores across the Denver metro area started a strike after months of negotiations.

The strike will affect 77 stores in Adams, Arapahoe, Broomfield, Denver, Douglas and Jefferson counties, as well as in Boulder and Louisville.
