After nearly two weeks of exciting premieres, star-studded press conferences and beachside parties that go into the early hours, the Cannes Film Festival is ready to roll up the red carpet after one last task: crowning this year's Palme d'Or winner.

Nouvelle Vague, part of the Cannes competition slate, is the ultimate inside-baseball making-of movie. But even more than that, it’s a picture that stands strong on the side of art, of history, of working to solve the puzzle of things that maybe at first you don’t fully understand.

Every movie has a price tag, and at Cannes Film Festival, many of the films competing are searching for a new home for global distribution. The first big buy of the year came from Mubi, which acquired Die My Love for $24 million.
