An online petition was created after Rumeysa Ozturk, a Tufts PhD student and Turkish national, was taken into custody by masked Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents in Somerville on Tuesday.

More than two dozen members of Congress demanded answers for Tufts University PhD student Rumeysa Ozturk, who was detained by ICE earlier this week.

A Turkish citizen, Rumeysa Ozturk, was arrested on Wednesday by plainclothes immigration officers wearing masks. Ozturk was detained outside Tufts University, where she is pursuing a PhD. However, Forbes reports that her student visa has been revoked.
