San Bernardino police chased a car driven by a potential kidnapping suspect across multiple cities Monday, March 31. The pursuit began when officers attempted to stop a silver sedan for a vehicle code violation around 4:45 p.m., according to Capt. Nelson Carrington with the San Bernardino Police Department.

Law enforcement officials tried to stop a driver for a vehicle code violation shortly before 5 p.m. in San Bernardino, according to the San Bernardino Police Department. The driver refused to yield to officers and after about an hour of driving through surface streets, they decided to hop on a local freeway.

The pursuit began when officers in San Bernardino tried to stop a sedan on Monday afternoon for a vehicle code violation and incorrectly concluded that there was also a possible kidnapping victim into the car.
