The Switch 2 is placing some of Nintendo’s greatest games on the high-res pedestal they deserve.

Although Nintendo has not mentioned anything about a price increase to any of the Switch Online membership plans in the U.S., it seems likely that it will happen. Prices have already started to increase in some regions outside of the U.S. in 2025 and with the Switch 2 looming, it's likely we will see the same thing occuring here.

GameCube Nintendo Classics are exclusive to Switch 2, and you'll need a subscription to buy the wireless GameCube controller.

If you’re eager to put your Switch or Switch OLED to the side, you won’t have to wait much longer. The Nintendo Switch 2 launches on June 5, 2025, in two configurations: the standard console and one bundled with a code to download Mario Kart World.
