Ryan Day and the Ohio State Buckeyes went through a rollercoaster of a 2024 season. After losing to the Michigan Wolverines to close out the regular season, fans were calling for Day's job. It got so bad that his family was being targeted with hate.

You see, Ryan Day has a Michigan problem. It was only a couple of months ago that the same Ohio State fans who are celebrating this contract extension were calling for Day to be fired after his fourth-straight loss to the Wolverines, this time at home as 19.5-point favorites.

Ohio State coach Ryan Day's new contract includes an $11.5 million school buyout (per year remaining on the deal), $6 million coach buyout, max bonuses of $1.55 million and a $250,000 retention bonus in 2027,
