The most recent big Mega Millions winner was a lucky lottery ticket holder in Illinois last Tuesday, who took home a $344 million jackpot. The winner marks the first time since Jan. 18 that someone has hit the Mega Millions jackpot.

A Pennsylvania woman learned she purchased a winning $2.5 million lottery ticket, only to realize she left it in a donated jacket.

So where did the player hit the jackpot? The lucky ticket was sold at the Quality Mart gas station in Pinnacle, a roughly 20-mile drive northwest from Winston-Salem, the N.C. Education Lottery wrote on its website and on X, formerly known as Twitter.
