Texas Game Wardens said they helped save three stranded hog hunters in the Davy Crockett National Forest on Monday after they became trapped in frigid floodwater.
Researchers tempted grazing cattle with sweet molasses feed to discover whether cows would roam far to graze or stick close to the herd, water supplies and feed stations.
Around 3 a.m., game wardens responded to a call from a hog hunter who said he and two friends were stranded in the Davy Crockett National Forest.
Midway 4-H member Jimmie Hewitt was fortunate to have warm water to wash his goat Monday morning. “She doesn’t like the cold,” Jimmie said, while preparing his goat for Regional Junior Livestock Show.
