Denver Mayor Mike Johnston and other city leaders rolled out a new plan for downtown safety after pressure from business leaders and others over rough times in a downtown shocked by violence.

With businesses in the downtown area struggling to regain their footing after the pandemic, Mayor Johnston said he knows crime is an issue. Wednesday, he announced a plan to do something about it.
