The reopening has brought back memories for the local community, many of whom shared their ancestral ties to the temple.

Morning aarti was performed at the temple on Sunday. The Bhasma Shankar temple houses an idol of Lord Hanuman and a Shivling.

The temple, also known as Bhasma Shankar temple, was reopened on December 13 last year after the authorities said they stumbled upon the covered structure during an anti-encroachment drive.
