BOSTON — Charlie Coyle scored a pair of third-period goals, stealing the spotlight from fellow Boston University product Macklin Celebrini in his first game at the TD Garden as an NHL player and leading the Bruins to a 6-3 victory over San Jose on Monday. It was Boston’s 14th straight victory over the Sharks.
BOSTON -- Charlie Coyle scored twice in the third period, and the Boston Bruins rallied for a 6-3 win against the San Jose Sharks at TD Garden on Monday. Coyle, who also had an assist, ended a 10-game drought at 8:22 to tie it 3-3, then gave Boston a 4-3 lead at 14:11.

Coyle didn't have a goal in 10 outings entering Monday's matchup. He had only two assists and nine shots on net during that span. Thanks to Monday's offensive outburst, Coyle has 12 tallies and 18 points through 48 appearances this season.

The Boston Bruins, for most of Don Sweeney’s almost 10 years as general manager, have had a clear objective ahead of the NHL trade deadline. Buy. The Bruins’ problem for much of the last eight years hasn’t been whether they could qualify for the Stanley Cup Playoffs.
The Bruins were down 3-2 at the start of the third period. While the Bruins were in a tough spot, Charlie Coyle bailed them out with an excellent third period. Coyle tied the game up at the 8:22 mark of the third and then scored the eventual game-winner at 14:11. He also added an assist for good measure on Elias Lindholm's empty-netter.
Early in the season, the Bruins players were preaching calm and patience even when they were struggling. Because they’d experienced so much success in recent years, they sounded confident that things would eventually click.
