Brooklyn Botanic Garden has opened a centennial exhibit celebrating its internationally respected bonsai collection.

A local World War II veteran is awarded a medal for his courageous actions. Since Martin Kuhr Jr. couldn't get his medal at a ceremony in Lincoln, the state of Nebraska brought the ceremony to Blair.
