The DOJ is investigating the schools to ensure they comply with a Supreme Court ruling that struck down race-conscious admissions.

U.S. Attorney General Pam Bondi has launched investigations into the admissions policies at Stanford University and three University of California schools, the Department of Justice said in a news release on Thursday.

California banned affirmative action decades ago. The Trump administration says it plans to investigate whether schools there are still considering race.
