Several northeast Kansas counties remained under a Severe Thunderstorm Watch early Wednesday. The watch included Shawnee, Douglas, Jackson, Jefferson and Wabaunsee counties and was scheduled to remain in effect until 6 a.

Another round of strong to severe thunderstorms look likely by Wednesday. All threats once again are on the table come mid-week.

The National Weather Service said storms would most likely develop after 3 a.m. and through the morning commute. The agency’s forecasters said the main threats are large hail and damaging wind, and there’s also a low tornado threat.

Spring severe weather season is in full swing in the northern half of Texas this week. A nearly stationary cold front is bringing multiple rounds of strong and potentially severe thunderstorms to areas well north of Houston on Wednesday.
