A Winter Weather Advisory sparked by the incoming snow system on Saturday has been issued for a large swath of counties across Mid-Michigan and Northern Michigan. The advisory cautions of worsening driving conditions on Saturday. It runs from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., the National Weather Service (NWS) said.

A winter storm watch was issued by the National Weather Service on Friday at 3:54 p.m. valid from Saturday 7 p.m. until Sunday 4 p.m. for Dukes and Nantucket counties.

On Friday at 3:14 p.m. the National Weather Service issued a winter storm warning valid from Saturday 5 p.m. until Sunday 11 a.m. for Passaic and Bergen counties.

A winter weather advisory was issued by the National Weather Service on Friday at 2:04 p.m. EST valid from Saturday 7 a.m. EST until Sunday 7 a.m. EST for Leelanau, Benzie, Grand Traverse, Kalkaska, Manistee,

Meanwhile, a swath of the Central and Eastern U.S. was under winter weather advisory, which the NWS issues "for any amount of freezing rain, or when 2 to 4 inches of snow (alone or in combination with sleet and freezing rain), is expected to cause a significant inconvenience, but not serious enough to warrant a warning."

On Wednesday at 2:48 p.m. the NWS Medford OR issued a winter weather advisory valid from Thursday 4 p.m. until Friday 10 a.m. The advisory is for Central Siskiyou County and Northeast Siskiyou and Northwest Modoc counties as well as Modoc County.
