Wednesday night’s bout with severe weather in south western Kentucky truly first began when, around 6:55 PM, Christian and Todd counties got their first tornado warnings — following tracked storms from northwestern Tennessee.
A line of strong storms—including reported tornadoes in Brownsburg and Carmel—passed through central Indiana on Wednesday night, creating power outages and flooding, downing trees, damaging buildings and bringing traffic on some interstates to a standstill.
A round of severe and life-threatening storms is expected to sweep through much of Kentucky between Wednesday night and Saturday, likely bringing severe thunderstorms, tornadoes and flash-flooding. That includes possibly up to 15 inches of rain in some parts of Western Kentucky, forecasters warn.
