KAMPALA, Uganda — Uganda discharged on Tuesday the last eight patients who recovered from Ebola , health authorities reported, and there were no other positive cases in the outbreak declared last month. World Health Organization described the recoveries as a milestone that “reflects the power of Uganda’s quick and coordinated response.”

Uganda on Tuesday discharged eight patients who have been receiving treatment for Sudan Virus disease-(belongs to same family as Ebola virus disease), after two negative tests carried out 72 hours apart.

Uganda has discharged eight people after they recovered from Ebola although at least 265 contacts remain under quarantine, its health minister said.
