U.S. property management company Greystar swindled renters across the country out of hundreds of millions using deceptive advertising and hidden fees, according to a lawsuit filed Thursday by the U.S.

The U.S. Federal Trade Commission and the State of Colorado have filed a complaint against Greystar, a multi-family rental property manager, alleging that it deceived consumers about rental costs with hidden fees,

The FTC and Colorado AG Phil Weiser filed a lawsuit against Greystar, accusing the corporate landlord of using deceptive advertising and jacking up the rental price through undisclosed "junk fees."
