There was momentum on J.T. Miller getting traded to the New York Rangers on Saturday, but the deal collapsed per NHL insider Elliotte Friedman. Miller was supposedly being held out of Saturday night's game against the Edmonton Oilers while some AHL players in the Rangers organization were scratched.

The Vancouver Canucks are at an impasse with star forwards J.T. Miller and Elias Pettersson. Both players are amid deep cold spells inspired by an off-ice rift, resulting in plenty of trade rumors.

In an NHL Trade Talk weekend rumors update, the Edmonton Oilers and Vancouver Canucks could both lose a player for a game or two as Connor McDavid and Tyler Myers were given hearings by the NHL Player Safety Committee after two crosschecks that occurred late in Saturday night’s game.
