Arkansas State Police Col. Mike Hagar was joined by officials on Thursday to provide updates on the Wednesday arrest of Andrew James McGann in connection with the double stabbing deaths in Devil’s Den State Park on Saturday.

Clinton David Brink, 43, and Cristen Amanda Brink, 41, were found dead Saturday at the park in Washington County, police said. They were hiking with their daughters, ages 7 and 9.

Police late Wednesday announced that Andrew James McGann, 28, of Springdale had been arrested on two counts of capital murder in the killings. He was taken into custody at 4:57 p.m. at a business in Springdale, the Arkansas State Police said in a news release.
