Seven San Antonio police officers were shot by a barricaded suspect Wednesday night, the city's police chief said.

A police chief says seven San Antonio officers were shot while responding to a “suicide in progress” call and the suspect was later found dead inside an apartment after a standoff.

"I heard shots, and they started, like, you know, covering themselves and running, so I just hid behind my car," said Ileana Castellanos, one of the residents.

Seven San Antonio Police officers were shot and the suspect is dead during a shooting late Wednesday night at a Far North Side apartment complex.
