Luton will build new car parking close to the terminal, bus station, taxi ranks and direct air-to-rail transport link known as Luton DART as part of the £2,400,000,000 proposal.

The buses, operated by Go-Ahead, were used until March this year to shuttle passengers between Luton Airport and the nearby railway station.

Luton has long been considered London's most inconvenient airport. It's about 26 miles from St Pancras station and passengers had to take a bus from Luton Parkway station to get to the terminal.

Passengers will be transported from Luton Airport Parkway station to the airport in just over three minutes – meaning an end to a much slower bus shuttle.
