After Target Corp. last week became the latest major company to announce a rollback in its diversity, equity and inclusion plans, some activists are asking shoppers to boycott the retailer indefinitely starting Saturday.

A trio of Minnesotans who previously led reform efforts in the Twin Cities after George Floyd’s murder rallied more than70 people outside Target’s corporate headquarters, calling for a boycott of the retailer over changes in the company’s diversity efforts.

Twin Cities activists on Thursday called for a nationwide boycott of Target starting Feb. 1 as a result of the retailer’s decision to scale back its diversity, equity and inclusion initiatives. Minneapolis-based Target announced last Friday that it would join other well-known retailers in scaling back its DEI initiatives,

Target has once again found itself in the middle of the culture wars after reversing a three-year-old policy prompting calls for a boycott of the retailer.

With the rollback of their DEI programs, Target folded like a cheap card table during an intense game of dominoes at the family cookout.

While the investigation into the D.C. plane crash continues, on Thursday, President Donald Trump blamed DEI programs as a factor in the tragedy.
