Kirk Ferentz just completed his 26th season as Iowa’s head football coach. Ferentz is currently the longest-tenured coach in the sport, but the landscape of college football has changed drastically since he became coach back in 1999.

Kirk Ferentz and Hayden Fry have plenty of great things in common.  Both men have led the Iowa football program for lengthy periods and have been very successful in the process, with Fry winning a then-school record 143 games during his 20-year tenure.

Despite all that, Brad Crawford of 247Sports has seemingly ignored that success and very questionably snubbed Kirk Ferentz from his list of the top 25 college football coaches ahead of the 2025 season.
