Geekie gave the Bruins a 1-0 lead with a power-play goal at 6:02 of the first period by pulling in a loose puck that deflected off Panthers defenseman Niko Mikkola off a point shot from Mason Lohrei. It was Boston's first power-play goal in eight games.

David Pastrnak scored a power-play goal with 2 seconds left in overtime and the Boston Bruins snapped a six-game losing streak with a 4-3 win over the Florida Panthers.

In the dying seconds of overtime, with the Bruins cycling in the Panthers’ zone while on a power play, Boston’s David Pastrnak took a final shot. It fluttered off Reinhart’s stick, lifted into the air and found its way into the Panthers’ net. The Bruins beat the Panthers 4-3.

The Bruins won for the first time in seven games Saturday, pinning a 4-3 overtime loss on the Stanley Cup champion Panthers at Amerant Bank Arena.

The Bruins have lost six consecutive games, with their last win dating back to Dec. 28 against the Blue Jackets.

Watching their losing streak reach six games, the Bruins enter this afternoon’s matchup on the heels of a 4-1 loss at Tampa Bay on Thursday. Mason Lohrei scored the lone goal in the loss for Boston, which has been held to just one goal in four of six games during its slump.

The one-sided melee lasted nearly 10 seconds before McDavid was finally able to rise up and, with no indication of a penalty forthcoming from the officials, took matters — and his stick — into his own hands, making it one-sided no more.

Connor McDavid made a fair point when he suggested that he and the Edmonton Oilers aren't getting their fair share of power-play opportunities this season.
