The Clay Fire was one of several fires that broke out in Southern California Tuesday as parts of the region sees red flag warnings through Thursday.

Clay Fire initially started today at 5 p.m. in Riverside County. After being active for six hours, it has burned 38.5 acres. As of Tuesday evening, 40% of the fire was brought under containment by a crew of 165 firefighters. The cause of it remains under investigation.

Jurupa Valley fire crews battled a brush fire in the Santa Ana River bottom, after having extinguished a blaze in a similar location last week.

A fire has broken out in Jurupa Valley as the Santa Ana winds continue to linger around Southern California. The "Clay Fire" was first reported around 5 p.m. on Tuesday, January 21 along the Santa Ana River Bottom near Pedley Road and Van Buren Boulevard.
