Canada will wait until next week to strike back against the latest U.S. threat of tariffs and nothing is off the table regarding possible countermeasures, Prime Minister Mark Carney said on Thursday.

While the president has threatened to ratchet up duties against both in recent weeks, he has yet to take direct aim at them.

In a late-night social media post, the president said he would impose “large scale” tariffs if Canada and the European Union allied to “do economic harm” to America.
