The Sweet 16 round of the 2024 NCAA men’s March Madness basketball tournament is off to a strong start, and will continue Friday night as No. 2 seed Tennessee takes on No. 3 seed Creighton.

Tennessee made its first-ever NCAA Tournament during the 1966-67 season, where it lost in the regional semifinal. The Vols didn't make it back to the tournament again until the 1975-76 season.

Tennessee went to the Sweet 16 just five times before Barnes, between 1985, when the tournament expanded to 64 teams, and 2014, when the Vols went from the First Four to the Sweet 16 as a No. 11 seed.
