State Railway of Thailand budgets B24bn for new railcarsThe State Railway of Thailand (SRT) will procure 184 air-conditioned diesel railcars plus spare parts, with a budget of 24.1 billion baht to replace ageing cars that have been in use for 30 years.
The SRT will propose lifting the current ban on alcohol sales on trains at the upcoming meeting of the Alcoholic Beverage Control Committee.
SRT plans to replace its ageing fleet by procuring 184 air-conditioned diesel railcars at a cost of 24.1 billion baht.
