Vaibhav Krishna, DIG Kumbh, said, “Footage of the incident will be thoroughly examined, including recordings from cameras installed at the site.”

The fire was reported in Sector-22 of the Maha Kumbh district near Chatnag Ghat. The devotees are reported safe and evacuated from the site of the fire.

Allahabad MP Ujjwal Raman Singh claimed that he had warned in advance about a possible stampede-like situation in the Maha Kumbh area and accused the administration of diverting all its attention towards serving “VIPs”.

A judicial panel investigating the Maha Kumbh stampede that claimed 30 lives visited the incident site at Prayagraj’s Sangam Nose on Friday, assessing security lapses and holding meetings with officials.
