Pickens had a phenomenal outing in the circle over the last week for the Lady Volunteers. Pickens picked up three ranked wins over No. 14 Arkansas and No. 2 Oklahoma in addition to breaking the record for the fastest college softball pitch ever thrown, 78.2 mph, in the Lady Vol’s win over the Razorbacks.
OU softball loses first series of season to Tennessee, Karlyn Pickens in SEC battle
With the loss, OU (31-3, 9-3 SEC) dropped its first series of the season. OU and Tennessee both finished with four hits apiece. Pickens tossed a complete game and following Sooners right fielder Kasidi Pickering’s three-run double retired six consecutive OU batters.
