The relationship between head coach and quarterback is very important, and these two have developed a strong one in a short time.

New York Jets quarterback Justin Fields performed well in his first go as his new team's starter. The Jets topped the Green Bay Packers in their 2025 NFL preseason opener to the tune of a 30-10 final. Fields only played one series but made it count. He was 3-for-4 passing for 42 yards. He rushed in a touchdown to cap the drive.
