Some businesses benefit. This year, Chicago-based sports caterer Levy is bringing 20 local eateries to a festival for NASCAR ticketholders in Grant Park over the weekend. They include Mr. Beef, Josephine’s Southern Cooking, Bronzeville Winery and Cloud Cookie, as well as two Levy restaurants, Jake Melnick’s Corner Tap and River Roast.

The first two years of NASCAR’s Chicago Street Race were accented by rain, but maybe the third edition will be a charm for fans and drivers.

The future of NASCAR in Chicago is murky going into its third edition on the first weekend in July. The three-year contract between the motorsports organization and the city that was announced in 2022 has two mutual options, and their fate is unclear.
