Michael Harris II homered and doubled, Nacho Alvarez Jr. and Nick Allen each had three hits, and the Atlanta Braves beat the Cleveland Guardians 10-1 on Saturday night.

The Braves are, as everyone is aware at this point, not having a very Braves-esque season. They’re playing out the string, and while they did their best to dent the playoff hopes of the Reds, Marlins, and Mets recently, that sort of “particularly nasty speed bump” status is what they’ve been relegated to at this point.

Waldrep, making just his fifth big league start, limited the Guardians to two hits and two walks while striking out seven in six innings. He allowed a two-out double by Kwan in the third and a Kwan leadoff single in the sixth to go along with a pair of Kyle Manzardo walks on the way to his third win.

The Cleveland Guardians continue to be one of the hottest teams in the American League and MLB. Their fresh off their sixth consecutive series win, and are looking to make it seven in a row as the Atlanta Braves come to town. If the Guardians want to ensure a series win over their NL East foe, these are three areas the team should focus on.

The Braves are streaking with six wins over the last eight games and back-to-back series victories, while the Guardians are 7-2 in the last nine games and five consecutive series wins if you go back further.

On Thursday the Atlanta Braves designated Carlos Carrasco for assignment. It may be the last time we see him pitch in MLB.
