Hundreds of Palestinians have been killed while attempted to get aid in Gaza, according to the UN. After setting up a total aid blockade in Gaza for more than two months, Israel began allowing aid to re-enter the enclave late May through a new US- and Israel-backed organisation called the Gaza Humanitarian Foundation (GHF) that has effectively sidelined the territory's vast UN-led aid delivery network.

Ten Palestinians were reported killed Friday waiting for rations in Gaza, adding to the nearly 800 killed seeking aid in the last six weeks, according to the UN, with Israel's army saying it issued troops new instructions following the repeated reports of deaths.

The Red Cross said its field hospital saw the largest influx of dead in more than a year. It said most of the more than 100 people injured had gunshot wounds.
