Here are our favorite places to frolic through fields of flowers ... Either way, rare high-elevation flowers are made that much more spectacular by views of the surrounding Appalachian Mountains.

Those vivid fields are perhaps my favorite part of spring. In fact, they have inspired more than one of our vacations where we have gone out of our way to see the spring flowers in all their glory.
