Officers were called to the 400 block of Park Avenue around 8:30 p.m. Friday on a reported shooting, police said.

The trooper and deputy arrested the men and took the girl to safety in Kansas City, Missouri. At first, the six-year-old gave them a fake name, something the elderly men had coached her to do.
