The Trump administration is freezing $339 million in research grants to the University of California, Los Angeles, accusing the school of civil rights violations related to antisemitism, affirmative action and women’s sports.

California Governor Gavin Newsom condemned the suspension of funding for the university over allegations of antisemitism.

President Donald Trump and Atty. Gen. Pam Bondi had said the school would pay a “heavy price” for its treatment of Jewish and Israeli students during campus protests.
