Despite all the buzz around Virat Kohli that he might take up the Royal Challengers Bengaluru's (RCB) captaincy role, it was finally revealed that it wasn't him but Rajat Patidar who will be leading the side for the IPL 2025.

Rajat Patidar has been appointed as the new captain of Royal Challengers Bengaluru for the upcoming IPL season. Former captain Virat Kohli supports this decision wholeheartedly. Patidar's calmness and leadership aspirations impressed the RCB management.

Former India cricketer Mohammed Kaif feels that Rajat Patidar would not have become the RCB captain unless Virat Kohli wanted him to be. Kaif said that the decision was taken keeping franchise's future in mind.
