For the first time, Waukesha County prosecutors have connected a teenage boy to the death of his mother and stepfather. Prosecutors now say 17-year-old Nikita Casap shot and killed his mother Tatiana Casap and her husband Donald Mayer inside their Waukesha home last month.

Nikita Casap faces felony charges for vehicle theft after police discovered his parents' bodies during a welfare check. The teen was later found in Kansas.

Officials in Wisconsin announced that a 17-year-old boy, believed to be a person of interest in a death investigation, was charged with driving a vehicle without owner’s consent and theft. Nikita Casap was formally charged with operating a motor vehicle without owner’s consent and theft.
