There was momentum on J.T. Miller getting traded to the New York Rangers on Saturday, but the deal collapsed per NHL insider Elliotte Friedman. Miller was supposedly being held out of Saturday night's game against the Edmonton Oilers while some AHL players in the Rangers organization were scratched.

In an NHL Trade Talk weekend rumors update, the Edmonton Oilers and Vancouver Canucks could both lose a player for a game or two as Connor McDavid and Tyler Myers were given hearings by the NHL Player Safety Committee after two crosschecks that occurred late in Saturday night’s game.

The trade drama surrounding the Vancouver Canucks continues on. As the team tries to get back on track, the rift between star forwards JT Miller and Elias Pettersson remains the biggest obstacle to this team's Stanley Cup hopes.
