The sheriff's office and the federal agency are investigating the shooting death of 18-year-old Corey Adams. SCSO announced the partnership on Monday afternoon. Adams, a New Orleans native, was shot to death outside of a party in Cordova on July 19. Four other people were injured in the shooting.

Memphis Police identified the shooter as 19-year-old Jonathan Hill. The department said the teen killed was James Gibbs. Delvin Lane remembers him as a "big kid, very intimidating size-wise" when he coached Gibbs his freshman year at Raleigh-Egypt High School.
